Boxed Eaves
An eaves that has been lined with the lining material level, rather than following the slope of the roof.

a boxed eaves

The typical shape of the barge boards when the eves have been lined level with the fascia. In this old building the eaves lining itself consists of boards with spaced gaps, to allow for air circulation into the roof space. In effect the gaps are known as eaves vents.

The barge boards run past the fascia by an amount that is sufficient to hide the gutter.
