Fibro Cutter

A two handed tool metal tool used for cutting fibrous asbestos cement sheeting.

The cutter here is a simple form of shears, it punches a slot on the material and is dragged along for the next cut. It is a fairly imprecise tool and the cut edges were invariably covered with battens.

Since the banning of asbestos containing products these tools are now useless as the new material that has taken over from "fibro" is not as brittle and does not shear well.
