Triangular Arch
A simple arch with a short span, usually two inclined stone slabs.

a triangulat arch

Apart from just a flat single stone spanning across a support like in the ancient stone barrows or corbelled arches this type af arch is as primative as they get. Obviously it is restricted in span to the size of the stones, but more importantly it is limited by the engineering capacity of the builders. They may have large stones but lifting them and supporting them during construction is anothe mattet. I fancy that this is the reason why we only seem to see quite small examples like the one above. A small window in a lakeland stone cottage.
