Pratt girder
A girder or truss with horizontal chords and the diagonal members pointing down and towards the center in the same pattern as a Pratt truss

The Pratt-girder above was fabricated with simple steel section, MS 60x60x5 angles (approx.) and 12mm rods. A similar job today would be to use universal beams to save on labour costs.

If the UB sections are not available then the pratt-girder is still a viable option for supporting this type of roof.
