Scissor Lift
Access equipment. A mobile scaffold platform. Also known as a scissor hoist because of the method of raising the platform.
Boom Hoist
Access equipment. A mobile scaffold platform that is raised and moved by an articulated boom Also known as a Cherry Picker.

The scissor hoist above is a mobile device that can move about the work area under it's own power. This can be a petrol, diesel or electric. It has quite a large platform that can take two men with their tools etc. Like all working platforms it has guard rails and toe boards.

The photo on the right is of a cherry picker or boom hoist.

Both of these types of work platforms come in many sizes and configurations. Some rely on having a finished concrete floor to work on and others can be said to be "all terrain".

In all machine of this type the operation and movement of the machine can be done by the worker in the platform.
