Preventive Shoring
The fixing of shoring and braces to building undamaged, but that could be put at risk by near bye excavation and other construction work.

If there is any risk that the construction work will have a damaging effect on neighbouring properties then measures must be taken to keep them safe from damage.

In this case the contractor has fixed pairs of steel walers to the exposed wall and inserted tie bolts into the building.

Again the contractor has stiffened them up with external supports, this time timber which tie bolt through the walls.
